✅ Week 4: Password Health Check
It’s tough to maintain security, especially when even password managers, the most secure of the secure (right?), get hacked. Jog your memory back to 2022, when LastPass suffered several hack attacks. Just last year, their headache grew when those hackers used stolen data from those hacks to launch a series of attacks on users of the popular password manager. (see the article at Tom’s Guide).
You need to revise passwords constantly to maintain security, but you also might think about how you store them for future convenience. If you’re reusing the same password across accounts, shame on you. You’re asking for trouble. Even if you’re not using the same password across accounts, it’s a good idea to change them up at a minimum of every three months to maintain some semblance of security.
Password managers still play key roles in helping with site security. PC News offers some suggestions on what to use in their article, The Best Password Managers for 2025. Want a free choice? Check out this thread on Reddit.
Now, it’s even more important to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) whenever possible for an added security layer. Yes, it’s a headache, but less of one when you consider the alternative.
Small changes, huge security upgrade.
