✅Week 8: Clean Your Downloads Folder
That ever-growing “Downloads” folder can turn into a digital junk drawer faster than a pumpkin can rot. Cleaning it out requires focus, an ability to save some downloads to the cloud or to the hard drive in folders, and a few minutes of your time. This discipline keeps your computer running smoothly, and it can also keep your assets in line.
Try this:
☐ Sort files by date, either oldest to newest or newest to oldest.
☐ Delete duplicates, outdated PDFs, and installer files. Remove anything you have stored on another website. For instance, if you have artwork downloaded and the original is on Canva, then delete the file on your computer.
☐ Move anything worth keeping into organized folders.
☐ Empty your trash/recycle bin to finish the job.
☐ Set a calendar reminder to repeat monthly.
✨ Bonus Tip: Rename your files clearly before saving them. Future searches (and future you) will be much happier.
